Here at Capitol Asset we have a lot to remember: schedules, details, weights, data, certificates, appointments and many more things every day. We remember for you and will follow up and keep in touch because that’s what we do.
We also remember today and the lives that were lost. Lisa Ambrusko, a long-time employee shares some of her memories from that day:
“It was horrible. I was scheduled to work at the warehouse that day with Robert. I had seen both towers get hit, but I was on the beltway stuck in traffic when they collapsed and then came the Pentagon and warnings of another coming plane, so of course, I panicked. I phoned Rob, and said I was heading home. I figured he and everyone else would too, but much to my surprise he said “why?”. I thought maybe he hadn’t seen the news somehow, so I said “Rob, our country is under attack. Our nation’s capitol is under attack as we speak!” He responded as if it was any other day; there wasn’t anything we could do to change it, so we might as well work. It took me weeks to get over the feeling that we could be gone at any minute.”
Some of you may also remember our founder, Robert Sargent. I can still see him strutting around the old warehouse practicing his British accent with a smile on his face. “Hello Stuart!” he’d say as he walked through the office with a bounce in his step. He started out over twenty-five years ago now with a vision that has carried us through to today.
We want every person we serve to know that we take pride in remembering you and your needs. I just spoke to customer today who had lost a family member and we chatted a bit. We aim to be “Large enough to serve you but small enough to care”.
