Covanta joins e-waste export ban group

Covanta Energy Corp. has joined the Coalition for American Electronics Recycling (CAER), the organization announced.
The coalition is pushing for the passage of the Responsible Electronics Recycling Act, which would ban exports of electronic waste to developing countries.
CAER says the bill would create jobs in the United States and enhance sustainability.The organization now has 56 U.S. companies supporting the bill, including Sims Recycling Solutions, Waste Management Recycle America and Alcoa.
